Cultural Dance of Sri Lanka
Available historical evidence says that many forms of cultural dances has being developed from 6th century B.C to up to date. In this small fabulous Island of sri Lanka there mainly three types of which can divide according to the arias of birth of these fascinating cultural heritage. Those are "Up-country dance" (Kandyan Dance), "Low-Country Dance" & Sabaragamu Dance". There are substantial differences in these three types of dances, which anybody can identify and get the artistic feeling of it. At the same time we can obviously divide this attractive dances as ritual dances and folk dances.
In this special entertainment program we are in our best to perform a combination of all these different cultural heritage of our Island.

Sri Lankan made Luxury double decker Bus
Chairman of Micro Company Dr. Lawrence Perera handed over a luxury double decker bus assembled in Sri Lanka for the first time to President Rajapakse at Temple Trees today
This Sri Lankan Company assembled the bus under the supervision of the Ministry of Industrial Development based on an agreement reached with the Chinese business community during a tour undertaken by the President to China in 2006. 102 passengers can travel in this luxury bus. Its market value is 12 million rupees,(120,000USD) The assembling plant is in Polgahawela. Dr. Lawrence Perera told the President that he is desirous of establishing a new factory in Hambantota. Even though they have won Asia Cup for three times this will be a great addition for their trophy collection.Mystery spinner Ajantha Mendis produced one of the most amazing bowling performances in the history of One-Day Internationals.
The 23-year-old Mendis returned the remarkable figures of six wickets for 13 runs in eight overs as India were dismissed for 173 in 39.3 overs after Sri Lanka had set them a target of 274 in the day-night final
Opener Sanath Jayasuriya was the backbone of their innings with 125 while Tillekeratne Dilshan made 56.
Mendis, declared both Man-of-the-Match and Man-of-the-Tournament, finished with 17 wickets in the tournament which was hosted for the first time by Pakistan.
President Pervez Musharraf, who graced the final as the chief guest, awarded the Asia Cup trophy besides the winners’ cheque for US$60,000 to Sri Lanka captain Mahela Jayawardene. Dhoni received the runners-up prize of $30,000 on behalf of his team.

LTTE Clamore attack at Katubedda -Moratuwa 06 June 2008
21 civilians killed, over 60 injured in cowardly terror attack- Moratuwa (Katubedda)
LTTE terrorists have exploded a claymore bomb targeting a crowded public transport bus at Katubedda, Moratuwa this morning (June 6). According to the defence sources, the roadside bomb placed at a location between Shailabimbaramya Buddhist temple and the University of Moratuwa, the topmost Engineering University in Sri Lanka, has been exploded targeting a bus, bearing number 29-1885, that was traveling from Kottawa to Mount Lavinia (Route number 255).
The explosion took place between 7.30 a.m and 7.45 a.m, police sources said.
The hospital sources said, 20 people have been killed, 12 males and 8 females, and over 60 injured in this cowardly terror attack. The injured have been rushed to the Teaching Hospital Kalubowila and Base Hospital in Lunawa.
Kalubowila hospital sources said that 55 injurdes are being treated in the hospital while 5 others who suffered severe injuries have already

Located between Habarana and POLONNARUWA, the 8890 hectares of MINNERIYA NATIONAL PARK is an ideal eco tourism location in Sri Lanka . The park consists of mixed evergreen forest and scrub areas and is home to Sri Lanka 's favourites such as sambar deer, leopards and elephants.
However the central feature of the park is the ancient Minneriya Tank (built in 3rdcentury AD by King Mahasena). During the dry season (June to September), this tank is an incredible place to observe the elephants who come to bathe and graze on the grasses as well as the huge flocks of birds (cormorants and painted storks to name but a few) that come to fish in the shallow waters.
